COVID, AGM and Registration Updates
Hello,
We hope that everyone is keeping safe and healthy during these
times.
Normally at this point in the season, the AGM would be complete
and we would be ready to open up registration in the coming weeks. Obviously, with COVID, everything has been
turned upside down. As such, we wanted
to update you on a few matters to keep everyone in the loop on what is transpiring
behind the scenes.
With the impact of COVID and restrictions put in place by the province, the executive has decided that we will not be holding an AGM at this time. It is simply not feasible to hold an AGM at this time. Furthermore, and online AGM is not helpful, as we are unable to discuss any possible changes or improvements for the upcoming season as that is also up in the air at the moment. We cannot even discuss what hockey may look like. It is all just too premature at this point.
This leads us to Registration. Simply put, we are unable to open registration at this time and have no timeline for when registration will open. We do not have an ice contract with the county and we have no clear indications of what changes we will have to implement due to COVID. We are committed to getting hockey started as soon as we can, now is just not the time that we can do so.
There will be many matters we will have to address due to COVID, however, with no real information from the county, the province and public health, it is far too early to guess what hockey will look like when it does return.
As we progress through the coming weeks and months, we will do our best to keep everyone informed through our website https://caledoniaoldtimershockey.com/and league wide emails. Please keep an eye out for communications. There is a very good chance that information on the upcoming season may be more last minute than any of us like with registration and information coming at you quite quickly. We expect that registration may be much more last minute than usual, so when it does open up, everyone may need to sign up in short order or run the risk of missing out. We just want to let everyone know well in advance that this year we will be different and keeping up with website messages and league wide emails may be very important.
A number of communications that will be forth coming in the next few days, week. We need to get jerseys back from everyone, we would like to get year end gifts handed out and we will likely be putting out a survey in the coming weeks as a way to solicit feedback in light of the fact we cannot hold an AGM. Your assistance in these areas will be greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Andrew Guidolin
